Im guessing you dont play tf2 much?

I agree, besides snipers are a must to take out, they can one shot any of your teammates.

I do. It's just more than 2/3 the spy players I come across are total garbage.
But I have to say, the 1/3 that aren't stuff are usually really good.

Hoo boy, it's been a while since I've seen a spy do anything other than what's in bold.
That's a result of a stuffty player, not a stuffty class. An experienced spy can decimate enemy defenses. Everyone has all these straightforward misconceptions on what the classes are supposed to be doing, resulting in stuffty playstyles.

the names need more classic 50s flare

IE: monsieur magnum
C.H.E.V.A.L.I.E.R
fillet de frenchie

I liked the Pistol's name though
it's supposed to be like those .38 special handguns, but I'm pretty sure the .38 special refers to the cartridge and not the gun so whatever

Also I had imagined it would look somewhat like this

A bigass boxy revolver, only it would have four cylinders

As for Laser Watch, I figured I might as well give it a name that somewhat explains what it does.

Fillet de Frenchie though, I like.

A watch that doesn't cloak, and a knife that doesn't insta-kill on backstab? The whole set is incredibly stupid.

A rapier is not a knife you inbred. And it mini-crits on backstab. I was originally going to just make it up to par with the other class's melee weapons but then thought that I might as well keep some resemblance to the spy's original melee slot.

But you see there has to be a way to make someone pick that spy than a scout, the scout is what your spy is like, minus the speed bonus.

Lots of damage if you are close, which is easy for scouts because of their speed, but this set will be solely reliant on camping in corners.

Scout and Spy are totally different.

As if I would take the time to look at the "(Rapier)" in the opening post when it's overshadowed by a terrible idea.

You are correct, and a .38 Special is a small cartridge.

My review of your set:

The .880 special isn't a bad replacement. More damage for a smaller cylinder size.
The rapier is a stupid idea. It doesn't even offer another style of play, it just makes the spy less capable of doing his job, completely defeating the purpose of the spy. He's not a combat class, his primary attack is to knife and run, taking away his ability to deal a backstab makes him almost worthless. You backstab someone with the rapier, and it does damage, which is cute, but then they've turned around and you are dead.
The laser watch is semi-neat, but overall useless. By the time you start firing the laser, you're already dead seeing as it increases in damage over time, and because of the rapier you can't disguise or backstab any enemy.

Overall the set isn't well thought out at all. You didn't consider how the spy is supposed to be played or his role on the team. Even the revolver is a generic "sacrifice X for damage" weapon.

Scout and Spy are totally different.

You don't read much do you?

I was talking about this set.

The rapier is pretty much an actual melee weapon with the added bonus of mini-critting on backstab. It doesn't do pisspoor damage if you miss a backstab, unlike the knife.

I was going to make the revolver replace the sapper with something else but I couldn't think of what to put instead.

You didn't consider how the spy is supposed to be played or his role on the team.
Tell that to the genius that thought up the Eyelander and Targe.

It still undermines the purpose of the spy, and is generally a dumb idea.

No stuff. The sword/targe were the dumbest additions to date.

I did read it. Even with this set there are tons of differences.
