My school is stupid when buying laptops.

It's 2:37 AM and I'm bored so I went on my school website and found there are 81 teachers.

Earlier this year they purchased the cheapest macbook for all the teachers. In total, that cost the school around $85-88K

Our school is apparently too poor to get laptops for every student.

If I recall, they have 50 netbooks but that only accounts for about 10% of the student population and can really only be used by one class at a time. stuff sux.

So 88000/450 = about $200.

Not only that, but if they still said, "forget you students, only the teachers get technology", they could have gotten all the teachers these, http://us.toshiba.com/computers/laptops/qosmio/X500/X505-Q892 which would let them not only do all the stuff you could on a macbook, but also play TF2 on max settings while a classmate bothers them about the presentation due in a week.

I bet their "Tech guy" or gal is handicapped as well. Back in Middle School, I was banned from using computers for "Hacking". Last time I checked, pressing CRTL ALT DEL isn't hacking.

I just want to say but, they don't buy computers for students to play games on them (unless of course it's a video game class).

Also, he doesn't let use the right click>new>folder. It's file>new>folder (I think, it's windows 98 so I don't remember how you do it as much.)

Are you just relying on computers for schoolwork? We only use computers for projects and research. We dont whine. You're just whining because you have to write on pen and paper and do real work instead of googling and copying and pasting to do your work

One of the teachers at my school is pushing for all the students to get an iPad, a buddy of mine is trying to stop him, if the students should get any small computing device it should be something that can actually run the software we use in his department.
