Hopefully he gets his ass sued by Notch for stealing the idea. The creator claims that he didn't copy minecraft. First, let's look at the names. Minecraft and Fortresscraft. The suffixes of both names are "craft". Secondly, both games involve building with cubes of grass, dirt, stone, and more. Third, pickaxes? Do you really expect us to believe you didn't rip off minecraft by adding a pickaxe? This guy is really stupid.

You're dumb. What's he going to sue for? Having a similar name?

oh

my

god

this

is

stuuuuuuupid.

The whole damn idea. The dev pretty much made a demake of minecraft with shaders and renamed it.

Im playing this instead of minecraft from now on

It's not like you could sue someone over something stupid like this anyways.

this is sooo much better than minecraft omg

FortressCraft is awesome. Minecraft fails. Problem, Minecunts?

If people don't like minecraft, why would they like a stuffty knockoff?

Because its on the xbox

and xbox cigarettes think if its on the xbox its automatically better

The original idea of fortresscraft was to fix the minecarts from minecraft but its all-so-diff

Bullstuff.

Bullstuff.
the dev said he was making a dwarf fortress like bullstuff
but then he played minecraft and got "ideas" on how he wanted to make his game

The game looks horrible, nothing fits together, and everyone is constantly loving fighting it over and restating the same things over again. The entire thing is a stuffstorm and makes me really loving pissed off, I normally never get angry over things like this. Everyone keeps repeating "Minecraft is a clone of Infiniminer" no, it loving isn't at all. If you've ever played Infiniminer then you'd realize Minecraft and Infiniminer are two different games. In Infiniminer you collect resources and place blocks and go against another team, in Minecraft there's not really a goal. It's a sandbox. Sure, you can relate the blocks and placing them and other things such as that. It's not a direct copy at all. Notch said he was inspired by it but they're seriously two different games. It's like relating Call of Duty to TF2 because they're both FPS's, sure they have things in common but they're not the same game at all. FortressCraft is blatantly a clone of Minecraft. It even has "Craft" in the name, for christ sake. The creator put in his twitter (Like tikitai posted) "Chapter 2 introduces inventory, resources, crafting, etc.". Come on. I remember seeing somewhere in his formspring or whatever it's called where people ask questions that he said he WASN'T going to put these things into the game.
These are just my thoughts on the subject. I haven't even read the rest of the topic but I just though I'd post what I though.
Also I'm not really supporting Minecraft, it's an okay game but I rarely even play it that much anymore. Notch needs to get his stuff together and stop messing around though, haven't had an update in a long while. Kinda odd of him to do that.
To the people who say they're going to buy it and enjoy it, well have fun with it then. I really don't care if you buy it or not. I doubt you're going to enjoy it though, the game looks horrible in my opinion.
the graphics are much better than minecraft's but they don't mesh together well, like the very fluid looking water in the blocky world
Except with less features and no fluent art direction!
The game doesn't look like it has enough consistency.
Even with the 'lesser' graphics, at least Minecraft sticks to a theme.

Fortresscraft = low detail cubes, smooth fresh looking players, weapons that look like they came from 1998 games, nice water.
Like a box of cereal except there's a sandwich, some apple juice, and prime ribs. Sure all these things are good, but not together.
Minecraft = Cube everything.
A box of cereal with just cereal in it. Something you would eat.

Multiple posts complaining about the artwork, and even after it's released, all of this still applies.
I would rather stick to the 'low detail graphic' Minecraft than a mixed hellhole of themes packed into one game.

It's like you guys want Pandan's cat in Blockland.
