TF2 downloading map problem

When I join a server, it loads a bit then it says "-mapname- missing, disconnecting"
Isn't the point of the loading to download the .bsp.bs2 or whatever and the rest of the stuff needed?
What's happening? It's clearly not a bug, but is there an easier way around it?

I have this problem with Synergy at times... sometimes it'll download the map, sometimes it won't

Oh, this is off-topic, but just now I traded earbuds for the fireman hat, the brainslug, and the silent earplugs or whatever.
Is that a good trade? :o
Did I get ripped off? I can't tell the values of these things except for a lot of people want earbuds and brainslug is 100.

You got ripped off, but not too badly. It usually goes for 4 hats. Atleast it wasn't the Max's Severed Head.

Bill's hat in my opinion is the only decent looking rare hat, not to mention you could have got like 4 more hats off of it alone.

KF set == Altogether about 2 refined maximum.

MNC items == The caps are near enough worthless, The Essential Accesories can go for about 2 hats in some cases.

Good Unusuals == 2 earbuds.

Bad Unusuals == 1 pair of earbuds.

1 Key == 1 Refined.

Prancers Pride == About 4 refined, it's quite a rare hat.

Polycount Hats == 3 refined.

Australian Christmas Set Hats == 4 refined.

Rimmed Raincatcher == 3.5 refined.

This is the value of a few hats in metal. Stick to this.
