You can connect to WFC at least once by just going to mystery gift in the startup menu, and as for pal pad, ^ lol new page

You get the Pal Pad shortly after you beat the first gym (It'll be in your "Key Items" sub category in your bag). Afterwards, go to the top floor of the Pokecenter and talk to either the middle or the far right person. You have to be able to connect to WiFi. When you're done doing those steps, you will have your friend code.

And I will never play like Mega. I don't just use one pokemon to outpower everyone. I'd rather be underleveled and balanced so I have to use actual strategy to beat my opponents.
