Author Topic: Tweed (BYOND Project)  (Read 7156 times)

This is our hero, John Smith.
Well dressed in his classy yet casual blue shirt and tan pants, with some well kept hair and clean shoes.

Still working on other directions, thought I'd just post this as progress. Yes I have him with nothing on, but posting nudists isn't my thing.
That's pretty good, Sham was having a big difficulty drawing out the player models. I'll talk with him and see how sad/relieved he is that somebody else is willing to do the character sprites.

Maybe I should try making something with BYOND.

Oh well, this project still looks loving awesome.

I was willing to go farther than characters honestly.
Possibly redoing the character a bit since his arms are a little small.

I'm willing to invite a few people into the dev group. I'm looking for the following..

Story Developer - Person who comes up with most of the storyline for the game, quests ideas, has the 'world' layout in mind.

Mapper - Person who develops all of the maps that are in the game, works with the Story Developer's ideas. *Note: I'll be doing some mapping too, mostly to make things run a little more smoothly.

And if anybody else in the community here has any skills they want to donate to the project, feel free. I just don't want any other scripters doing very much work.. This project is to help bolster my scripting ability.

I'll take story developer.

I'll take story developer.
I forgot to mention I would like to see what you can do before letting you in. Write some storyline and a few quest concepts.

Sure, just let me write it.`
EDIT: Here you go.

At the start of time, three random people came together and contructed Earth. We'll call these people "goddesses", the title seems to fit for people who are able to make a planet.
About a few centuries ago, some random guys came together and forged some sort of object and called it holy. It was pretty, but it really looked nothing more than to be decorative. So the goddesses blessed it.
The "Sages", as we'll now call these random guys, foresaw that some evil would try to take it stereotypically. So they built a temple, and one sage said "Dude! This is just like Legend of Zelda! But with a different thing with power!"
Everyone agreed, so they decided they would forge a cool magic sword that could kill evil. And then they did that.

Today, a young boy by the name of (Hero's Name) is awoken by his father, who is gone shortly after. He gets his father's sword from a chest in the back of the room.
Then the adventure begins.

(Quest Concept: That sacred sword thing in the temple)
You know the sword that the "Sages" forged? In the temple thingy?
Yeah, that one. (Hero's Name) can't defeat evil without a really cool magic sword.
(Hero's Name) needs a magic instrument and some sort of amulet or something to get in the temple.
So, um...yeah.

Cliche cliche cliche!

Try going outside the box, what if there wasn't an ultimate enemy? What if it's just a war between large groups of people in which the player can take sides?

I do like the humor part with "one sage said "Dude! This is just like Legend of Zelda! But with a different thing with power!"" though.

How about two opposing factions AND an ultimate enemy.

Just try to create a storyline with a lot of possibilities. I don't want to make a cliche RPG with a linear development. I want the player to be able to choose between a lot of options at different times, defining what they are later in the game. I'll also have PVP, so that can play a role in some places too. PVP will be limited to certain areas.

I think the opposing factions and an ultimate enemy would be good, perhaps later on the factions would have to band together to fight the ultimate enemy, and after it is defeated they go back to warring with each other, in the end the hero decides who wins the war and controls the region? By siding with them of course.

Perhaps you could help one faction take over a town, and later in the game the town would look different(if possible).

This game is multiplayer.. So joining two opposing factions wouldn't work very smoothly..

Ah yes, I've been playing too many single player games lately.

Well I still believe the warring factions and ultimate enemy would work good, just remove the banding together part.

I think we should be able to build so we could build are own towns.

The character's story can be swayed to whichever faction they join, and then more so of the weapon, areas they explore (Caves, Mountains, Towns), and if they do illegal acts

Two factions, The RED EAGLES (Industrial) and THE BLUE BEARS(Countrymen?), have been fighting for almost 20 years. It is your time to choose at this young age of 13. In your home, you have 3 weapons to choose from: A laser pistol (Commando, usually in back), An energy sword (Swordsmen), or Throwing knives (Stealth).(The weapons they choose unlocks a cabnet in which you have your clothing. Commando -All green w/ faction spots, Swordmen -Faction color and white, Stealth -Black ninja suit/Ammo+gadgets vest) Along your journey you will face many enemys (Training robots, Animals for survival in the wild, maybe other players?) and each path you choose will affect everything, why, even now you've already decided what weapon you've wanted! (After a bit of playing, the "Ultimate enemy" will make themselves known, maybe after beating a certain number of enemys or gaining something, in order to beat the enemy you must work with someone else to help you either attack it, distract it, or make a cunning plan to take him down (choices you make will affect this) and different quests, such as exploring a cave for treasure or climbing a mountain to take down an enemy or maybe even to get advice, will be affected by every choice made)
I will help make the storyline or whatever if you choose me
