Alright so I need names of Game Engines, later this year in my course we're building a game and we can just about use any engine available. That includes things like CryEngine 3, if we wanted to we could be using it before Crysis 2 has even come out. Anyway any suggestions or names of Engine that you think are decent and not put together like stuff?

My real options at the moment are listed above, though Unreal and Gamebyro are really stuff to use and I know that because I've been using them the past 20 weeks. I'm looking at CryEngine only because its not half as hard as Source, Source is an epic platform to be using though it has its ups and downs like anything to do with characters.

Why are you even considering Gamebryo?

Eh, Source or CryEngine3.

What type of code language you after?

What type of code language you after?
C++, thats really preferable.
Why are you even considering Gamebryo?
Because we have licensing to it already, though like I stated it was stuff.

Isn't the license for CryEgine3 extremely expensive? Apparently CryEngine2 was around the half mil mark.

crytek are making a free version of the engine

what about unity
Not an option, its good and all but the Programmers cannot truly program for it so its like making a game and you've done basic scripting on it. Not exactly industry worthy.

Student Licences, school can get them for us.
