Author Topic: PlayStation (1) and Dreamcast Nostalga Trip  (Read 1498 times)

As I posted, my mom is bringing my aunt here. While she was cleaning up, she found my old box full of PlayStation and Dreamcast games I was looking for a few months back. God, the nostalgia trip. Most of these actually aren't mine, they were my older brothers, but he has basically abandoned gaming so... ya.

The list for each console starts with the ones of my most fond memories, ending in games that are just sitting in the box:

PlayStation

Dreamcast

Marvel vs Capcom was awesome.

I wanna reach for the sky! *dun dun dun dun, dun, dun dun dun dun!*

You got to love Sonic Shuffle and the VMUs. :D

oh god rpg maker

You've played that? I was making a game with that back when I was little. Since I didn't know how to save, I kept remaking it. My brother lost the memory card with my game on it after I figured out how, but I still remember most of how the game went:

You start out in a castle room, a guard blocking the exit. If you talk to him, he tells you to go to the roof to stop the monsters. Going up the stairs, you find a hidden stairwell. At the top, there is a line of dragon monsters on the towers. You fight one, but the rest destroy the castle. You wake up in a field of deep pits where the castle once was. Heading east over a bridge to town, you find a church with a grim reaper in back. He says the monsters turned him into it before heading to the castle, hoping it's okay. Upon hearing it isn't, he leads you to a building with people who might help. There is some side rooms, including a master room on top containing the final boss. You can access him at any time, he is the most powerful being in the game, and winning is highly rewarded by almost impossible.

I don't remember much else storywise, but I have other things: There was a pub next door to the building he leads you to. There's a bunch of NPCs with bad jokes. One is a woman who offers a kiss, and then flashes for a moment to reveal she's actually a witch. There's a girl and boy running it, one of which farts and the other farts and then lights a match, temporarily blowing up the pub. The effects actually cover the screen. In the back room, a baby is playing a piano and a phone that goes something along the lines of "Is your refrigerator running? You better go catch it! *click, not turning off* Haha *you go all tauntingly, I forgot* AHH!." There's books in a library about Pokemon and Pokemon jokes.

You got to love Sonic Shuffle and the VMUs. :D

Ya. I heard Sonic Shuffle was hated, and I can see why. But some of the minigames were actually fun.

I had a N64 growing up, and that was 2001-2005, then I got a Gamecube. I got a GBA in 2007 and a DS in 2008. I borrowed a XBox from my brother in 2009, my sister bought a PS2 in 2010, I bought a PS1 in 2009 and I got a Wii in 2010.

So, yes. I recently just found a pile of CDs to play PSX games on. I get to experience PSX gaming now. :3
