I'm spiritually confused. I've been raised as a good Catholic boy all my life (no the loving priest didn't molest me). Eventually my faith waned with the exscuse, "You were indoctrinated. You're trained to believe this. You don't feel God, your mind is running a simulation of what that may feel."

However, I've asked said God for proof and for him to show himself.

I want to believe but, I seek truth. I have no idea why I'm telling you people this in the first place.

In my opinion, the belief that there is a god is an excuse for people to rely on. Since they want answers they make up something imaginary that can explain most everything. You can't just be safe or happy, the god must supply it for you. Funny thing is the nonbelieves have safety and happiness as well.

People need to live in fear of something. It doesn't matter how "doesn't scared of nothing" you think you are, there's something you're scared of. They choose god as an excuse to be scared of going to hell for sinning or what have you.

If God were real, we would all be forgeted.  He completely ruins people's lives for stuffs and giggles, specifically Job, Sodom and Gomorrah, and Abraham.

He told Abraham to kill his own young son, burned Job's house down just before killing his family in front of him and stripping him naked, and completely obliterated 2 cities for being San Fransisco.

Sometimes I wonder why the church is so... strong about their views.  Then... well... I don't want to talk about it myself about what happened to me.

You should talk to someone about the molestation, OP.  It can be damaging, but you don't have to go it alone.

It's just I WANT something that loves me. Thing is, organized religion went wrong trying to define said deity.

I went so crazy over this I stood out in the cold at 9:00 at night in the middle of winter begging God for a sign. None came.
