Also, I just searched and can't find one example of a G2 running WP7.

:P

Y'all and your fancy phones

I'm never getting rid of this

Also, I just searched and can't find one example of a G2 running WP7.

:P

If I had my camera, that isn't built into my phone, I'd take a pic.

I'll take one when I get my camera from my girlfriend. I think I'll get it on Thursday or Friday :o

I know it sounds like I'm calling you out, but I'l legitimately curious.

How exactly did you manage to run WP7 on it?

When you root the phone, you can install a different OS on it. It gives you access to the main code to the current build of your version of Android. There's a file in there that is called "boot", it basically says to boot from the certain "partition" if you will, much like BIOS, except this you have to manually program. You add a line of code right under that basically telling you to choose the boot location when you turn on your phone. You put the build of Windows Phone 7 onto your SD card, then upon starting up the phone, you can choose which one you want to boot from.

Or, if you want, root the phone, format the phones memory, put Windows Phone 7 OS files into the phone, and you'll boot up using Windows Phone 7. Granted, my physical keyboard doesn't work in WP7 because the build didn't support a keyboard.

First of all, the G2 hardware does not comply with the WP7 requirements. That includes the CPU and hardware/capacitive keys. Even if it was possible to rebuild a ROM to work on this phone, that would take months of development just as it did for the HD2. Not to mention the HD2 was by far the best candidate for a WP7 port considering the HD2 was designed with the intention of upgrading to WP7. I have searched and searched but found absolutely nothing about running WP7 on the G2.

I find it hard to believe that you single-handedly figured out how port something that that professionals have not been able to do. It's nothing personal, but I'm calling bullstuff. Also, it's easy to slap a metro launcher on an android device and take a photo. Hell, you could even throw a WP7 screenshot on there and make it look legit. Take a video of it and then we'll talk.

This was not a rant.

It was something on XDA Dev website.

It wasn't an official build of it as I stated, but a ROM. Just like 10.3 Gingerbread for tablets is being used on G2's. The g2 has half the specs required for it. I

Did you take that picture with your phone??? Ahh? Ahh?

The REAL MEN phone.

Seriously. You can throw this baby from our house and it will still work as a swiss watch.

This is my phone. It can do a lot of things and it's only £20.

i've dropped my phone in the toilet multiple times, dropped it out of my car, my dads car, my moms car, down my stairs...

it's fallen off of my roof, but I'm not gonna count that because it landed in a pile of leaves.

T-mobile is still an independent company though, and will remain so. It just has access to the ATT satellites.
So, T-mo's new phones be able to use their tri-band 3g and AT&T quad-band 3g?

All I remember from the blog post I read about it was that ATT will be using t-mo's 1700mhz radios and t-mo will be using att's 1500 and 1900mhz radios.

or somethin like that.
