I can guarantee that atleast 500 people will buy the 100 dollar hat.

They wouldn't have made any money in the first place.

Taxes don't go to Valve, they go to the government, I thought.
OP says valve says "valve tax".
Valve says "net tax".
Valve said that all the proceeds are going to Japan minus the taxes, which would go to government.

Sorry, hats make me gag.

Listen up kids, if you go to red cross and donate you get nothing in return accept for a few thanks, but if you buy this you get a hat and donated.

I wouldn't want anything in return besides a thank you if I know it is going to a good cause.

I'm just explaining to idiots who expect to get something big out of it, you might as well get a hat to show people you helped Japan

MIGHT AS WELL BUY VALVES COMPLETE PACK
I MEAN
ONE
loving
HAT
SERIOUSLY

Also killing floor tomorrow

No they don't. They're not taking any money from Japan. There's a difference between no gain, and loss.

I don't know what you're basing that assumption off, but it's incredibly stupid.

Yeah guys, Valve makes no profit from this, whatsoever.

If Menen had finished his failquote:

Quote from: Valve
All proceeds (net of applicable taxes) will go directly towards the Japanese disaster relief fund that the American Red Cross has set up.

Taxes go to the government. Taxes need to be there because this is a purchase made by you. You could donate to the red cross, skip the taxes (as a big F U to the government or something) and have the same results. This way you get a TF2 item.

Why is that so hard to understand? Wynd_Fox explained it like three times.
