Author Topic: AT&T to Impose Data Caps on DSL, U-Verse Customers Starting May 2  (Read 6775 times)

I don't think you can "brain properly" any day, from what I've seen of you. If you honestly think you know more about this than bisjac then i'm content to stop arguing and sit back and laugh at you.

I'm stating my opinion here.

If I can't do it in this topic, you're welcome to tell me.

This isn't something you have an opinion about. This is something that deals with facts. Facts are facts, not opinions.

Facts can only come from specialists in said domains. That and books.

people don't even understand that they themselves aren't even reaching the limits that are now imposed lol.
they just are told they cant do something and start crying.

internet isn't some magic that should be openly shared freely. its a service that requires hardware, requires upkeep, and upgrades.
there is a lot of business that needs to be done.
all these limits are made to allow more people even fair usage. as we are in an age where any and everyone can run a spammy bandwidth hungry business from their home from any net connection, it saps the net for everyone else.

"the internet is a series of tubes" yes its funny, but its a very true metaphor he was making. it can fill up, and slow down usage for everyone.
if you want to spam, or host. you have to pay more for using more.

Oh boy.

yeah thats fine, just ignore the meat of his post again. it makes you look really smart, dont worry.

I completely understand what he's trying to convey, but not everybody who complains about this is being a huge baby.

The only person I see complaining still is you... and you are being a baby...

dont complain about being treated like some poor dial up user, when your paying for crap.
Except I'm paying for the highest speed internet in my area and I'm still getting a 250GB a month cap.

then eventually a higher-end company/service will come in to take advantage of untapped profits.

Because that 2% is me and only me.

Not gonna mention Snaffle since he's not complaining about the same stuff as me, but still, I'm not the only one.

It's been over 5 years and that still hasn't happened yet.

what 2%? I see no proof of a 2%
i see no proof of ANYONE hitting a 250gb limit, for that matter

Okay, hold on, I'll jack into their computers and compile some statistics.

Look, there is no way some people didn't hit that limit already. I know it's a lot, but just because you can't hit that limit does not mean they/we can't.

lol if everyone allowed no limits. there would be nothing competitive about providers to allow price reductions.
and the net would be slow for every last person in an area.

and 250g is a stuffload of download for 1 month lol.
i dont think i could do that even if i was trying to. my entire music collection isnt even that big, how often would i need to redownload all of it lol.

5 comps in a household browsing and gaming alone could NOT hit anywhere near a 4th of that limit
