Should I get Steam?

I've tried using steam before but never really used it. Can you use Steam with any PC game or only games by Valve or whatever?

I wouldn't recommend it. Once you get it, you never leave it. The reason I don't encourage it, is because after you've spent hundreds on you're retail games that you bought dirt cheap, you do one thing wrong, and you're entire account is disabled, and you lose all you're games.

On a more related subject, maybe you shouldn't do things wrong? I've had my Steam account since I was 11 and I've been in good standing ever since.

Well, some game developers choose Valve to ban people when they buy games from another regions, but other than that it's really hard to make mistakes which get your account disabled.

There's no reason not to. It's free, and requires practically no effort to download and sign up.
