Why does blockland need to be so blocky? Seriously i know its Blockland but why not lower poly models?
Why dont things look really smooth?
Its really just a question im serious.
Please answer because i really dont understand blockland much

Besides J MASTER's response, I'd like to add AiO to the argument. All they did was port models right over to the point the game looked like total stuff. When you have this round, complex looking/textured thing next to your simple block building, you get the feeling something just isn't right.

As been said by others, stop getting ahead of yourself you little kids. Before we start talking about cores, speeches, and all those little overhyped elements, we need to create the basics so this can actually function. We need the gun definitely, along with cubes and buttons. Turrets, of course. Also, we need to figure out JUST how the Material Emancipation Grill will work in code whereas it doesn't screw up or anything. Note that the old Portal content needs an overhaul in itself.

THEN we can make the inessential cores and all that.

Developer Commentary spoke about the difficulties with gels and such. Blockland would fail, unless you want extremely scripted movement.

It will even look pretty damned good.

I've seen fluid simulated with about a hundred or so pinballs being dropped, and the undulo with bricks, but that's about it.

Neither of those are what I am going to do. Pinballs sound terribly laggy, by the way...

That wouldn't be compatible (at least, not easily) with any other portal mods (light tunnels or whatever, portals themselves...)


I wouldn't plan on bringing every little aspect of portal 2 into blockland, you might just end up of having a clusterforget of stuff that you're trying to stuff into a game that just wasn't meant to have the content.
