Author Topic: My wheel fell off.  (Read 2087 times)

So I was driving down the road and my front left tire started making a weird "bumping noise." It went away so I figured it was fine. After I pulled off a stop light, it started again, but this time more violent. It started to pull to the left so I decided to pull over. Right as I stepped on my brakes there was a loud crash and I saw my wheel fly off and roll about 300 feet down the road. Meanwhile, my car is sliding on the rotor and the brakes don't work.

I managed to get halfway to the side of the road, and got out of the car. The entire studs ripped off and I found them in the street with my center wheel cap. The fender has a dent in it now, too. I had my tires rotated at Walmart a month or so ago, so I'm going to talk to them tomorrow. I'm just happy I wasn't on the highway anymore.

glad your alright, what caused your studs to rip off though?

Christ alive, is the car ok?

Probably improper torque on the lug nuts.

Maybe. It slid pretty far on the rotor, and the axle might be bent.

He said he just had his wheels rotated at Walmart. Could have possibly been them.

I smell a lawsuit.

Yes. Please loving sue Walmart. I hate their very existence and how they treat employees like stuff.

My brother got into an accident today. His car looks like forget... No crunching, but hashes into it the likes of which can make you stuff yourself. :panda:

That, or could be a wheel bearing.

NEVER, get your tires done at wally world. Dedicated tire shops always do a better job (works at a tire shop hue)

I know. But I was short on cash, and I'd used them before.

A CERTAIN SOMEONE brought it to my attention that the tow truck might just have a furry sticker on it.
That or a local sports team, because I only know of one college or pro team with a paw.
And it's not even a paw it uses.

Dear god yes.
I can't stand car wrecks.
For multiple reasons.

I said goodbye to my Rhonda before I let the tow truck take her, since it might be the last time I drive her. It slid on the undercarriage and the axle looked forgeted.
