After that little scuffle, I went to check the bulletin board. There was an advertisement on it, and it read: "Are you looking for action? Adventure? Possibly romance? Do you want to help save humanity? Would you like to be recognized as a hero by the king? Want to find riches? Sign up now, for the Conquistadors!". There were 20 slots available. I signed my name on it. I saw one of the royal guards sign a name on it, too. John Takisha. I noticed three other names. The guard looked at me, and said, "Heh, worthless prisoners."

Then I wondered if I should regret signing up for this.

After that lovely little number of hell, I got up. "Hello?" I yelled, my echo came back in about 20 seconds. "This place is huge," I whispered. People started to come towards where the huge chunk of rock fell. People looking at me, faces so dirty, everything here was so drab. Did these people know about the surface? I walked for a couple blocks, then saw a place.

Citadel Historical Quarter.

I went in. I saw a signing sheet, I put my name on it. I shook hands with one of the nearest people by me. Little did I know, me an Ian were on the ride of our lives.

As the guards dragged me through the streets my eyes caught a glimpse of an advertisement. "They're looking for people to go the surface..." I mumble to myself under a small chuckle, "He must be getting really desperate."

Finally I got an idea. The surface. Even if I were to escape there'd be no where to hide in the Citadel... The outside, I've been taught by my ancestors on the outside world. If I could escape and hide among those Conquistadors I could survive on the surface.

I've been a prisoner for far too long, there's finally hope. I can fight.

I swing around and wrap my handcuffs around one of the guard's necks and I kick the other guard with my right foot. He stumbles back and pulls out a firearm but is unable to shoot me without killing his ally. I reach with my right hand and snatch the restrained guard's keys and unlock the handcuffs while my left hand snatches his firearm. I keep the gun trained on the guards and I back away slowly. Once out of range, I run.

I find myself at the sign up place as I quickly mark down a false name, "Jacob Taylor". Then I quickly run towards the other people eager to set foot in the new world. Freedom.

HellHound, that cave-in never happened, lol.

This tunnel, the Tunnel of Tears, is a tunnel that got it's name from the very many who tried, and failed, at exploring this tunnel system. It is believed that this tunnel will lead to the surface. There was a caravan here, with people loading it up for next week's journey. I saw a man talking to another. One of them asked, "what's your name, son?" and the man replied, "Err, Joh- Jacob Taylor, sir. I am here to accompany you on your journey to the surface." The first man nodded. "Well, help me with these sacks of Leif Fruits, we need food, right?" The first man chuckled. The man known as Jacob Taylor immediately obeyed, and I just sat on a barrel or water, just staring into the Tunnel Of Tears. The Unknown. My moment was quickly interrupted when a man picked me up by my collar, and said,
"DeRello, right?" I nodded, and he said, "Attach these oil lanterns to the carriage. Make sure we have plenty of oil to keep those lanterns alight during our long journey. My name is Captain Robert MacGregor, but please, just call me Rob." He extended his arm, and I shook it, and gave a salute. I then got to work with the oil lanterns.

I woke up with a huge bump on my head. Somebody took my pistol and assault rifle from me. I groaned as I got up. Some of my joints started hurting. "Damn arthritis." I said. I looked around. I was in a shack with a bed, and a lantern, it was about  20ft square, and my head was close to the ceiling, I was 6 foot 5 in, and I walked outside, and my eyes started adjusting, after my eyes had adjused, I saw a mine entrance. I walked in. "Damn it's dark." I said. I looked in my pockets, damnit! Somebody took my lighter. I looked at my radio, busted. I continued down the tunnel.

Monday, August 15th, Year 443, 9:37 A.M.

Today is the day we depart on our journey. Everyone is calling it a Self Delete mission, that there is no chance of survival. I don't believe any of it. I CAN'T believe any of it. Faith is our only hope in making this journey - and that is what separates us from the others who have tried.  We board the caravan at noon in the Citadel Square, where we will have an armed escort to the tunnel of tears. Then, we will make the journey to the place that I STILL doubt exists to this very day. Have faith.

There was a loud hiss as the airlock opened under the Citadel's palace. The king smiled. His secret cache. Inside was a huge assortment of assault weapons, enough food to feed an army, A truck, explosives, generators, and most importantly, the undetonated atomic bomb.

I pick up some rocks and a stick. "Here goes nothing.." I say. I bang the rocks together and hold the stick nearby, a spark is made and the stick lights. "I'm one smart guy." I say in pride. I walk down the tunnel with my torch and fire rocks. I come to a fork. I look in my pockets for a coin, I found one! I flip it. Heads, I go right. Here there are cart tracks and a cart. "This is dangerous, but right now I don't give a stuff." I say and give the cart a shove and hop in. A little while later, I come to an old rusted broken down elevator, haning from one side, completely covored in rust, top to bottom, and I notice a spot I can squeeze through, Not to steep for me where I fall, but still close to straight down. "At least I don't get to ride the elevator from hell, what next? The Scary-Go-Round?" I say. I start climbing down from an assortment of ledges and sometimes the cable.

"stuff, I don't see any more ledges, and the rope is gone, looks like I'm gonna have to jump." I say. I take a bold leap out from the ledge and plunge into the darkness, Then I hit the floor. "That was embarrasing."* I say. I go down the tunnel, with very clearly marked signs, all of them saying: "The Citadel" and "Turn Back!". I drop my torch, no use in it now. I instantly wonder what the citadel is.

*=I only fell a couple of feet.

I sit on a somewhat unstable pile of luggage as I await the caravan's departure. the caravan jerks up the rocky pathway to the surface.

[Where in hell am I, I can't figure it out. Has the caravan left yet? 4:41 PM - Jorici (as Unknown): Caravan hasn't left yet]
Wtf man I can't even understand that.

I guess I'll just fix it up.

Everyone was riding on the Caravan. There were cheers from the crowd on the street, and after about 10 minutes we reach the Tunnel Of Tears gate. Two guards opened it, and then saluted us, and immediately closed it. "Light the oil lamps!" Captain Robert MacGregor said. (One of you can play as him if you want.") Suddenly, the super wide tunnels were illuminated. I reached up to my helmet, and flipped the flashlight switch on. It shot a bright beam about 300 feet. And no end in the tunnel was seen.

I come around a bend in the tunnel, I'm suddenly bathed in light. I sheild my eyes. People start murmering things I can't recognize, suddenly, a man approaches me. "My name's Ian DeRellio," he says. "Nice to meet you, can I join you people?" I ask. We shake hands. Little did both of us know, we'd be on the ride of our lives.
