Steam > TF2 not starting

When I try to run TF2, the normal launch window appears and says "Team Fortress 2 is preparing to launch...". Then, after a few seconds, it dissapears and nothing happens. I tried quitting and re-logging in to steam with no luck. I'm about to try again. :P
Help!

oh god i feel your pain. this happened to me and i was freaking out. Restarted my computer a couple hundred times and it finally worked

2. Delete a file from the steam folder.
3. Re-log on.

what you have to do is run steam with administrator for vista/7

if that does not work then try deleting a file as a last resort only

i am an administrator
i'm pretty sure it has to do with the new update
i'ma delete a file after i play blockland, but keep suggesting
deleting is still a last resort

ok i deleted some random .dylib file
and it was replaced but nothing else happened, still can't get on

Just asking to make sure, have you restarted your computer since this problem ocurred?
If not you're loving stupid and that's the first thing you should've done, if you have then oh well, sucks to be you I guess

I think there is just a lot of stress on the servers. It's taking awhile for my games to start too.
