It's a press release about how improvements have been made to the security of PSN, and also some new procedures and an explanation of a "Welcome Back" package Sony is offering.

Discuss.

Oh yes, the package looks nice. In the back of my mind though I still feel like this hacker thing was an excuse or something.

Excuse for what, exactly?

PSN going down for no reason; a majority of the customers understand
PSN going down due to hackers; customers are angry that Sony didn't place stronger security

Why would Sony make up an excuse that would make them look bad?

Yes! I've been waiting more than a week!

Free 30 days of playstation plus? I forgive sony.

Wait, PlayStation Plus... I know online is free, so what's that? Some premium features that should also be free? Wow.

no they shouldn't be free.

PlayStation Plus shouldn't be free. Having a PS+ subscription nets you a free select PSN game a month, discounts and other free things on the PS Store, early access to demos and betas, etc.

You miss my question: What is PlayStation Plus?

That sounds like stuff some officially hired PlayStation beta testers should have. Not some service.

Tons of games do things like this. For instance: Runescape. I'm not sure if they still have that "Pay $5 a month and you can do much more stuff" thing, but it's the same concept.

It's a good way to rake in some extra cash.

Or you could pay for general service and get the cool things for free, instead of being some premium user who can be a jackass to regular ones. :panda:

What the hell are you talking about?

With Xbox, all those exclusive things you mention are free with basic paid membership. Unpaid is deficient, so no one has it. AKA you don't need to pay for anything special. Everyone is equal until they enter willfully to be more. Even if you pay for basic, you aren't excluded from being more for it.

I'm not writing this correctly, but you should get my idea.

Oh, and I don't mean to start a war. I'm trying to make a point. I don't want to fight about it, everyone has their methods. Just saying this... Sorry.
