Author Topic: The Autonomous Aggressive Quadrocoptor  (Read 1159 times)

These things were developed at the University of Pennsylvania, and they fly.

By themselves. No human being is operating them, and there is some programming involved, though. Other than that, completely autonomous. I think it is pretty revolutionary, as it can automatically sense when to fly through the falling hoops, as seen in this video.

They can also be set to follow one leader, that is human controlled, and the following Quadrocoptors do everything it does. But, they simulate a malfunction, and the other three quadrocoptors will recover, and ignore the malfunction of the leader. (Will find the video)

Quadrotor Maneuvers
It can detect failed landings
loving Magnets...

IMO, this is a great technology that will help in the battlefield with transporting troops, and not taking as many casualties from pilots dying or getting shot down, once improved and on a larger scale.

Discuss this awesomeness.

Now imagine this... but 300 times bigger.

And with a 32 MM cannon.

Warfare would be changed forever.

What if it goes all evil, like in the movies, then those things will go on a terrorist bombing streak :/.

You don't know it, programming can always fail.

You don't know it, programming can always fail.
From what I understand, it's a dumb ai, meaning it can't think on its own. It can maneuver on its own, but it can't come up with new goals and objectives.
