algebra is the hard way of doing simple math

algebra is the hard way of doing simple math
algebra is the way of solving problems that don't have some of the variables such as items or money. low level algebra is more useful then higher level algebra, college level is probable pointless.

9:33 PM - Joshua: The impedance Z, in ohms, of a circuit element is defined as the ratio of the phasor voltage V, in volts, across the element to the phasor current I, in amperes, through the elements. That is, Z = V/I. If the voltage across a circuit element is 22 + 7i volts and the current through the elements is 3-2i amperes, determine the impedance.
9:33 PM - Joshua: WHAT THE forget AM I READING

I just finished a class of circuits 2 and we were working with that stuff. Of course we just used our calculators when working with imaginary numbers  :cookieMonster:

Oh and by the way, you should be using j instead of i when working with electronics.

Our schools running into an electronic wall. Were getting personal laptops next year, everything is on a calculator. By 9th grade I'll forgot how to do 5x5. I'll know exactly where that is on a calculator though. I've always pondered about useless crap we learn in math, were doing linear equations, and I can't even see why someone would do this. Maybe if your an Air Traffic Control worker, or a shipmate, but a normal job would never require this.
Math sucks when your teacher is horrible at it and her excuse is "I'm a first year teacher so get back to work you dirty children."

Lmfaooo. College algebra is a joke, I took it sophomore year of highschool. Its straight up faillll.

Tom

I just learned about graphing parabolas and imagery/complex numbers in my highschool math class.
lol "college" math sure must be really hard.

Thank you, Captain Douchebag.

Yet another thread where Monocle has already been there, done that, and is better than you.

Thank you, Captain Hypocrite :)

It's called actually giving a forget about school, and not wandering the hallways with a richard in my ear. It's called you know, signing up for classes that are actually challenging, not letting my guidance counselor do the work for me.

Yet another thread where Iban is a massive hypocrite!

Do you even know what the word hypocrite means?

I don't think you do.

Also, I'm actually in college. Not highschool. I started attending college in my sophomore year. My guidance counselor (oh no! a guidance counselor! How droll.) recommended it considering how I was not being challenged enough by the highschool curriculum.

Oh hey! Look it's Iban saying how much better he is than all of us!

Hey asshat, I'm 16 and I'm starting my first semester of college after this summer release.

The only reason I was ever in AP classes was because in elementary school, my parents had me in a program called CHEERs, essentially it was the honors classes of elementary school. After that, during 6th grade, I hated the normal level classes, dropped them all and did honors. Honors was too easy so I started doing next years curriculum, by 7th grade I was essentially a freshman. By sophomore year, I was essentially a senior.

School in America is easy as forget, it's the most twisted and easy to manipulate system in the world, no joke, saying you graduated from highschool a year or two early isn't really a feat.

im pretty sure the point of this post was to say how bad i am at math.

when i was in elementary school they shipped me off to a highschool to do forensics with a bunch of other kids they put in the gifted program every wednesday.

Public school in America is a joke.

people come from all over the world to use our colleges. we have some of the best in the world. our own students aren't able to apply for our own colleges because the gap between the two is so vast

also, i like how i said 'yeah i started college in highschool' and you type up a big 'ol post telling me how great you are. im going to lol when your girlfriend dumps you for being a lame-eyed pompous starfish.

Oh hey! Look it's Iban saying how much better he is than all of us!
Weren't you the one to start bragging about college algebra?

Back on the subject... Algebra really isn't that bad unless it's something advanced. Are you going to take Calculus Iban? I know the business students at my school have to take it.

You going to be a math major?
