The game is basically an economy simulator. You are no longer judged how cool you are by score or kills, but by how much hats you have.

if you're only collecting hats you really are doing it wrong.

I've gotten 5 while Kritzkrieging a Demo, who had 7. That's the most I've seen for any player outside of fun servers. If you include fun, the most is like 15 or 16.
