All of the sudden, the server went down. I shrugged it off, and tried to connect to a KOTH game.

"The game is running a newer version of TF2"

was there an update or something all of a sudden this second?

Oh pst, it does it automatically. I got confused because a second after the update I shut it down but it wouldn't start up. Just "Preparing to launch Team Fortress 2..." for 5 minutes

all games on steam update automatically as soon as an update is released

Why would you want two weapons with no bounce grenades?

You don't need bouncing grenades if your aim with the Loch-n-Load is good. Comparing the difference between it and the default pill launcher to the Medigun without an Ubercharge is just handicapped.

however the function of the demoman is turned from an arched trajectory that continues for a bit to an arched trajectory with an immediate blast

sure, you don't need bouncing grenades to get a kill, however in most cases the loch-n-load can be a gamble. in my opinion i'd stick with the default weapon, and if i wanted an immediate blast i'd pick the soldier, however stated a difference in trajectory.
that's just my opinion though
