That is perfectly acceptable. He was going to shoot it at the soldier when you backstabbed him faster.
It's not a fail, he didn't do something bad. He would've got it if you DIDN'T backstab him

The scout FAILED to stun the soldier and the ball bounced into a pumpkin which killed the scout therefore making the fail epic
