I'm also confused as to how those complement each other in any way, do you miss so often you almost die and are forced to go at the person with your Equalizer?

Me. I used market gardener.
And i don't care for DH.  It's basically impossible to get the target in the air.
I just go with the Black Box.

I've yet to see anyone use the market gardener efficiently, but maybe that's because I'm smart enough to move away from someone using it.

Anyone else make goals for themselves in TF2?

For example, I spent some time trying to combine my rocket jumps into combat, best moment ever was rocket jumping over a crit rocket and killing the soldier who shot it at me.

I got a few crits, till I used it for crafting purposes. I don't even use the melee with soldier anymore.

I'm a good shot with the direct hit, meaning I get way more kills with it because it has more damage
and if I'm hurt badly I equip my equalizer and run for a health kit or run back to the spawnroom

I've actually made a few flag caps with the equalizer. I pretty much owned everything on the way back to my base

Also that still doesn't explain much with the combo, combo usually implies they work with each other, ex: Degreaser+Axtinguisher.

I hate it when the Blu starts to cap the point, and my whole team runs, instead of at least trying to take out the few players on the point.
