Yeah it is? It's got a +10% damage plus it the crits from behind are awesome for stuff like payload.
It still has airblast, so you just need to know all of the ammo locations, personally I prefer degreaser but it's still good.

I think the Degreaser is pretty good too, but some people (not saying dkamm is like these people) prefer most if not all stock weapons over the non-stock weapons because they're some sort of 'master race' or something

It's just a matter of play styles, you can use what is said to be a terrible weapon but be very good with it or you can use what is said to be a good weapon, but be terrible with it, not only is it a matter of play styles, it's also a matter of skill and what you're most used to

I haven't found increased airblast cost to be an issue, just pick up weapons and ammo boxes
