those aren't even the AI nodes actually.

.nav files are the AI nodes, ain are used for sounds i think.

AIN files are for AI nodes (The entities).  NAV is for dynamically generated AI nodes for CS bots and L4D zombies.  AIN is for things like Half-Life enemies.
