I got the new Scout hat out of one (sold it for 8 ref) and got the new Engi misc out fo the other one, have yet to sell it.

Been testing the new items, here are my findings:

with new scatter, scout's base speed is 260. for comparison, soldier is 240. now, in terms of damage scaling, 1 point of damage is equal to +1% boost. meaning once you do just a mere 100 damage, you have +100% boost, aka "double speed", which makes you move at 517.5

scout can be whipped, makes him move at ~505

crit-a-cola gives +25% speed during its duration of 8 seconds now, which is 500 speed off of the normal scout speed, or with the new scatter you move at 325 (medic is 320 speed for comparison)

unfortunately, you cannot stack any of these bonuses to much effect, since it hard caps at 520

and gru + steak still does not stack since that had nothing to do with cap

quick fix basically is that bungee mod that everyone got excited about a long time and suggested to valve after it came out. you don't follow your target, but rather when they impulse themselves with an explosive (only tested soldier/demo), the medic is impulsed in the same direction from where he's standing at the same velocity

and quick fix does indeed make medic move at up to 520 if he's healing a scout going that fast

so with proper communication, medic can be at mid same time as demo with quick fix. scouts can also be there even faster with the crit-a-cola boost. while quick fix might still be hurt a lot from not being able to overheal and having a less than desirable charge activation, the fact is it makes the med SUPER mobile

gimmick quick fix strat when pushing C as blu on gpit by flying the med straight to top? who knows

edit: we mainly did speed-related tests, but i did craft two of the other weapons

one was the new flare gun. which is bad. but it has a ranged taunt kill probably about as long as heavy's, and the projectile continues on after that if it didn't hit anyone to do normal damage

the new rocket launcher should be thought of as a reverse rl. you "reload" the rockets then shoot them. multiple ones don't come out at once but rather really quickly, so you can't instakill someone as easily nor can you super rocket jump. also, since you have to reload rockets before shooting, there is a huge delay between clicking and firing for just one rocket, which was a deal breaker for me

did not test new rifle, new smg, nor new pistol yet

pistol is indeed +15 health, not +15%, so 140 for scout. but that's still good and can survive candy cane point blank rockets

the new sniper rifle's focus is interesting. it builds up with kills and assists, but neither has to be from the rifle. for example, you could get a kill with your kukri and it will count. kills give 33% charge, assists give about 16% (so 3 kills will charge it or 6 assits, with each assist being worth half as much as a kill)

when focus is charged, zooming in activates it. it then lasts for 8 seconds. reloading does not force you to unscope, so you can stay scoped in during the whole focus, or you can manually unscope if the situation calls from it

the smg gives crits on kill like you'd expect. the crits apply to primary and melee as well, so you can hit 150 noscopes, 360 huntsman bodyshots, or 195 melee swings if you want. but killing people with the smg refreshes the 3 seconds of crits, which is usually the favorable choice for cleanup sprees

You can no longer tell if a Scout is a Spy unless you can see what Primary he's using

Some hats and misc now assist in kills
