I like Tool. But their lyrics are so pretentious that often times they come off as pseudo-intellectual. Wings for Marie/10000 Days and Eulogy both have very good lyrics though.

IMO, this song is about how humanity keep s progressing technologically and reaching new and amazing heights, but instead of using our technological prowess for good, such as the vaccines so symbolically mentioned, but instead we use all this advancement to build new weapons and tools of destruction. Not about any of that political corruption stuff.
