Anyone saying that this is an Ion cannon or mini-nuke remake is wrong.
This weapon functions in an entirely different way than either of those weapons. You have to CHARGE the gun yourself for a full 6 seconds to get that big of an explosion, and 6 seconds is a lot more than you think while you're in the middle of a Deathmatch. Plus, if you dont charge it for the full charge time, it's actually not all that powerful at all. Mininuke you could literally aim at your feet and shoot every time you spawn, making it extremely cheap.
The Ion Cannon doesnt help anyone much in a DM. Has anyone here ever tried fighting with that thing? All it does is blow you backwards a bit, it cant even kill you in one hit unless you get hit directly. The Ion Cannon is literally pointless. You can't use it to fight.
The SLC can be used for combat, quite easily. It's not ungodly cheap, because you cant spam the forget out of the full-power beam. But it is more powerful than the eaverage gun. That's the POINT of the laser weaponset, so that people have overpowered guns for use on overpowered playertypes, like the Zombie Tank, the Witch, or the Prototype player.
This isnt that complicated, not too difficult to understand. I shouldnt have to put this much effort into explaining it.
EDIT: And also. It is physically impossible to be lagged from these addons simply being enabled. That's a bunch of stuff.
