Though the germans built two prototype jets before the 262, it was the first to be produced in large scale and used in combat.

forget Germany, They killed so many of us Soviets....
So you want to blame me for what others did just because we are from the same country?

Are you really stupid or something? I insulted 1939-1945 Germany not 1946-2011 Germany

edit: and why did you put including Seals when the army has berets and rangers and the airforce has pararescue, and all of them have classified units we don't know about?

What about we just stop?

First result that popped up. You can also look
here, here, here or here, or in 2 books that I own regarding that subject. I'm afraid I don't have more reliable sources than that.

Isn't the Focke Wulf- 190 the equivalent to the allie's P-47? The Focke Wulf could dogfight.
It has the almost the same/if not equal armor. Plus a small cannon?

And Battlebrain, leave Germany alone. The USSR kind of divided Berlin with the Berlin Wall after the war. :/

Yes. They both had large, powerfull engines, and quite heavy armor. They also had respectable firepower. I think the FW-190 was a bit faster than the P-47 though. It could also outturn the P-47 at lower altitudes. But both planes had quite bad turning abilities, and their climbing rate was not so good either.
So the FW (and the P-47) was not very good in dogfights, as it was outturned by the escort planes. It was mainly used for taking down bombers, whilst the more nimble Bf-109 took down the escort planes.

The P-47 could and DID dogfight. Go to the History Channel and watch a show about the attack on Y- 29. Its a Dogfight with P- 47s. Also, the P- 47 had a water injection system to cool off the engine, making it go really fast. Also, the P- 47 had 4 paddle props, so it was not that bad at climing (compared to when it only had 3 props). The best thing about the P- 47 during a dogfight was its durability. I read somewhere that a P- 47 was flying low throw a forest and came home with tree tops in the fuselage. It still made it!

Watching the movie now. What I was saying was mostly aimed at the FW. What I said about the P-47 was mostly based on the fact that it is big and heavy. I also experienced it to be a bit less maneuverable than for example the Spit in games I've played.

EDIT: lol, why the hell would german FLAK not be informed? That's just stupid. I would also think that the FLAK should know the silhouette of their own planes, especially if they fly the wrong way :P
