I was thinking more of a string that you shoot that eventually floats down and stay on the object/person for a while, would be awesome for parties :D

If a couple hundred particles gives you slowdown, your PC must REALLY suck.

I would say something about my laptop but Badspot will ban me. :(

Get a better ventilation system for your laptops dangit! It will fix almost all your problems. Get a ventilation pad under it, put it in a freezer, anything. My laptop has no problems running BL, sure I can't blow up my space elevator with the death ion cannon I made while friends fly around in stuntplanes and rocket ship cars shooting each other with rotating animated particle induced lasers without BL freezing up, but still works awesome.

I was speaking from a host point of view, I almost never lag except in massive builds with tons of emitters and people, but when I am running a server and someone shoots off a ribbon cannon a couple of times everyone complains about the lag, I imagine the silly string would cause the same thing.

You don't get it, the ribbon thing works fine, it's another issue.
I think it's just my card not liking OpenGL.
I'm not going to explain, I don't want to be banned by Badspot.

I get uberlag when I use ribbon launcher, or ribbon waver. I want a emitter like the stablizer in the spraycan, only colored, and it sticks to everything.
