Author Topic: Classic Books being Banned  (Read 8641 times)

The people in schools are extremely touchy aren't they?

WHY ARE PEOPLE SO STUPID. Just because one book is "socially offensive" means it is for everyone else too? They are just trying to brainwash everyone.
This is most likely part of some republican religious "purification" of everything.
It's funny because we have little control over the education system. It's the people you set up in the first place numbnuts.
BAN SOMETHING BECAUSE IT GOES AGAINST GOD AND IF WE OFFEND HIM HE WILL SMITE US ALL
You're already a result of handicapation. So far All I've seen is people going "Religion did it" and not even making much thought about the fact that anyone can do it religious or not. It's blindly based assumptions and I know that you are all aware of the first three letters of assume.

Don't worry we still have the Kindle. :D

5. Harry Potter series, J.K. Rowling, 1997-2007

Harry Potter
series by J.K. Rowling, 1997–2007

Censure: Burned in New Mexico; challenged in 19 states.

Albus Dumbledore: A modern-day Merlin, the Hogwarts headmaster personifies the allegedly demonic attributes of this series—witchcraft, sorcery and rebellion against authority. Rowling added fuel to the bonfire with her 2007 assertion that Dumbledore is gay.

forget! NO!
Better not be my state.

Quote from: Menen
10. Fahrenheit 451, Ray Bradbury, 1953

How ironic.

Pretty much all of those books are part of my schools curriculum... so uh, yay for my school

We should kill every single person who supported this

We should kill every single person who supported this

I saw Harry Potter coming, but it should not be banned because that's against the freedom of religion and expression. I assume LOTR is about the same reason.

Schools are public, I'm pretty sure they have no right.

OH MAN SOMEONE USED THE WORD "stuff" ONCE IN A BOOK, DON'T LET THE KIDS READ IT DESPITE THE BOOK TEACHING IMPORTANT MORAL AND POLITICAL VALUES! THAT'S THE ONLY PLACE THEY COULD POSSIBLY READ OR HEAR THE WORD, IT'S NOT LIKE THEY CONSTANTLY YELL IT IN THE SCHOOL HALLWAYS!

Of Mice and Men?
The whole book is largely centred on the subject of the unfairness of racism and loveism.

Where exactly has this happened?
