Author Topic: Apple iPhone Patent  (Read 3507 times)

I used to think Apple was a decent company.

But now they are just being richards. Android is better for smartphones IMO.

It's all speculation guys. Stop assuming that just because they can take over the market they actually will. A few years ago Google patented some search technology they could have used to kill all other search engines, but that didn't happen. It actually probably wouldn't be in Apple's best interest to become a monopoly because then they have to operate under the regulation of a monopoly and risk anti-trust lawsuits.

And Apple has every right to patent something they invented.

If they do we have to wait 10 years before people start using Touch pads for Cool things again. I much rather have an interactive Wall that allows you to paint using a giant touch screen rather than another 20 Phones and iPods

Tom

It look like the patent only applies to portable devices. So you could still have an interactive wall.

I have a 4th Gen iPod Touch and a Samsung Droid Charge. With my Droid its basically like I have a jailbroken iPod with a bigger screen without even doing anything.

I have a 2nd Gen iPod Touch and a Motorola Droid 2 Global.

2nd Gen iPod Touch blown out of the water, the D2G's literally a portable Linux computer. Anyway, Apple does something stupid again, just gives me another reason to never buy anything from them.

If Apple begins taking out other products because of this, they're gonna get a mouthful from, well, everyone it seems.

i honestly don't see the surprise here
and i love how everyone skipped over Marcem's post

i agree, i dont believe it'll change much

Yes, but Google is actually doing things right.

I invented the can, I don't care how useful it is, I'm patenting it so no one else can create something similar.

This is a smart move by Apple though, since if the courts are on their side they could get more sales by eliminating competition, as the article says, however unlikely that may be. But whatever, I've never liked touchscreen phones anyway.

I love Apples products, but I hate this bullstuff that makes the majority dislike it.

Monopolys are bullstuff.
