evil tome is an early-mid game item, during late game you should have blue as much as possible.
AA staff is a meh choice, I feel that it's better for spammers like karthus and cass, but xerath's spells are up fairly often I think.
Well with as much CD reduction that he had, maybe AA staff wouldn't be that bad of a choice.
You will get even more spellvamp, and another slow. it also makes your auto attack a bit more useful.
You don't need your auto attack to be a bit more useful especially when you're wasting an item slot on it.
RCC is a better slow, always.
WotA: +50 Ability Power UNIQUE Aura: Grants nearby allied champions 30 Ability Power and 20% Spell Vamp
total of +80 AP to self, up to 120 given to team, total of 200 [not saying it's all useful] when you figure out it's a team game
20% spell vamp to self, plus giving 20% to the rest of your team.
Hextech Gunblade: +40 Attack Damage +70 Ability Power +15% Life Steal UNIQUE Passive: +20% Spell Vamp
+70 AP
+20% spell vamp.
It's weaker than WotA by 10 AP, loss of aura, and adds AD and life steal (Which you don't need)
Then you add in the cost of the items.
WotA: 2100
Gunblade: 3625
So it comes down to 3 strong points for WotA and 2 weak points for Gunblade.
WotA:
Cheaper
More AP
Aura
Gunblade:
Has a slowing active that you don't need
Has attack damage that you also don't need
Thank you for your time and understanding.
Please don't consider buying both either.
I like how in most games, people don't realize how strong Sona is. There are quite a few games where I have dominated with her.
She's especially good for early game harassment while you let your carry farm. I can zone enemies constantly so by the time laning is done, our bottom lanes are level 7-8 while theirs is like 5-6. She's got insane early game damage, and great lategame support.
