ok first I'm going to open by saying you're dumb

easing into this, it's a free to play game, so yes they depend on microtransactions. new champions are added every few weeks because if nothing changed the game would be very boring.

They're effectively adding new purchasable (with time and/or money, not just money) content that doesn't ultimately break the game like I've seen happen to other games.
