apparently the "precision mode" is a form of stabilizer like with Paint Tool SAI (in a nut shell, it "slows down time" and allows for slow smooth strokes)

my previous pen did not have pressure-sensitivity on the eraser-side, so erasing was always a chore

my Bamboo CTL-470 just has a pressure sensitive tip, so i just binded one of the buttons to the Eraser tool on SAI and it's pressure sensitive still.
