It's not only reading, there also has to be applications of those teachings into everyday life.
Well that's a given, I'm talking about the strictly religious activities performed on a daily or weekly basis. You can apply Christian teachings to anything, even video games.
Well, at least you stated that. If anyone tries to force religion into you when you are unwilling to listen to it, just tell them that forcing the teaching into your closed mind is like trying to put out a fire with napalm.
That is a cool simile :)
It doesn't really work that way. Its hard to go from atheist back to religion. Usually atheism is the result of hearing religious perspectives and then deciding you disagree. Hearing them again doesn't mean much....
It is still very possible to go from atheist to Christian. There are many out there who were told the wrong things growing up, and were smashed in the head with a rule book of DO THIS DO THAT to live a Christian life. Then they become atheist as a teenager, after they are taught about evolution and other things from their science teachers. However, once they become even older, a Christian minister or some conference they attend may suddenly strike them as relative, and comprehensible, and they become a Christian again.
Also, by exploring the scientific field I know a few atheists that were converted to Christianity through their intensive research on the way the world was formed, and understanding that it is impossible for the world to have formed by any means but by intelligent design.
Christianity was, is, and always will be the number one cause of atheism in the world. It's truly sad that we do this to people.
No, sin and Satan (if you believe in Satan anyways) are the reason there are atheists in the world. Atheists have blinded themselves to God's general revelation and made a declaration against him in their hatred for what he has in store for their lives.
wear a t-shirt with an upside down cross to church and film the reactions. that or go normally and pull a cheese burger out of your pocket and eat it instead of the sacrament.
At my church people would then flock to you, in an attempt to figure out what's up and what your story is, and tell you about God. Not the best thing you'd want to do if you were an atheist, and didn't want to be converted to Christianity.
