What is this "Onlive

Onlive is a cloud-gaming marketplace, like Steam, except, one thing is different: Cloud-gaming. This connects you to a computer in one of their datacenters, which has all of the games listed in their marketplace, and has the latest specs. It's completely free, getting the games is where you have to pay, however, there are 30 minute trials for every game. I tried it out: No downloading, you click on a game to play, and it loads up in a minute or so.

And the greatest part: You can play on a crappy computer.

I'm playing Batman Arkham Asylum trial, on a intel based laptop, smoothly, with great graphics, jsut because onlive connects you to another computer, and you play on that computer, from your computer at home.

thing is if you're not extremely close to one of their servers it's really unresponsive and you buy games that you don't actually own and you can't download them if you wish to

You just need a fast internet connection for this.

I tried it out but if I remember correctly it plays in a 1280x720 resolution?  They might've changed that.  I still have it.  I used to be part of their beta program but I guess now its free.

It's a nice tool for people who can't yet get good computers but if you own the games already or you already have a good computer its not necessary.  Nice demos though.

Oh yeah, and that.  If their business goes out, you don't get to keep your games since its theoretically on a cloud.

my computer doesn't even support that :( ..

Onlive is great with the 30 minute trials since you can basically play the multiplayer for free :D

Can you play Crysis on a Commador 64?

ooooh

everything looks all pretty

might actually get into this

my computer doesn't even support that :( ..
It's a resolution.  Your monitor can't handle it, any computer can though.

Except when you go over your monthly bandwidth limit because of this you realize how dumb it is.

Though this is loving awesome they only have 9 full pages of games to choose from.

Cloud-gamers will be jelly when their internet goes down.

The title isn't that interesting and people don't know what it is.

I would say if you this topic to be successful you say what it is in 5 brief words
