I think they both have an equal amount of pros and cons, but then again, many of those pros and cons depend on your personal preferences. I've never played Terraria, but it does look fun, and I think I could have just as much fun playing it as I do with Minecraft.

got bored of terraria after a week

played it A LOT and just about got everything and explored everything

minecraft on the other hand isn't about getting everything in the game, it's about BUILDING HUGE ASS PROJECTS AND CLEARING OUT ALL THE loving MOUNTAINS IN THE WHOLE WORLD JUST TO BUILD A GIANT COBBLESTONE snake

Terraria, by far
Minecraft has a stuff community and never gets updates, while terraria has overall more features.

after you have a constant persistent stable living place with plenty of things to keep you alive

it gets boring

terraria isnt about combat, there is a lot of exploration to it like finding corruption, digging, finding the dungeon, underground jungle, etc.
terraria also has a more detailed building system and more materials to make things out of.
terraria also gets updates
