Author Topic: My internet bill was $2,795.85  (Read 3086 times)

I'm in Maryland.  I can't imagine actually having a cap on my bandwidth and download.
I see.

In Alaska there's only 2 ISPs which means they can charge for whatever they want. That's why the cost for internet usage is so damn high. It's even worse since none of the 2 have an unlimited data cap.

However, $2,795 is outrageous, I'd go with what Bisjac said about how his dad is torrenting, or someone is tapping into your internet.

Why would you not get unlimited everything? That's like getting a phone for texting with out unlimited texting.

20$ mo/ for unlimited everything.
$0 a month for unlimited everything.

All cable phone and internet.
This is real bro.

Alaska is too cold. All of the packets freeze before arrival.

ok makes more sense

If your internet is unpassworded, people are leeching.

You are on Youtube most of the day?

Thats it. You'll be using hundreds upon hundreds of megabytes if you watch video after video within a couple of hours, which quickly turn into gigabytes. Depending on how the video is compressed, the quality, its size, and its length, the average video can be anywhere between 20 to over 100 MB each.

Do yuo have a static IP or is this guys Internet BOSS!

I agree that YouTube could possibly be a large part of that.

Also:
Im on youtube most of the day and don't do much downloading
How do you think you get the videos? They have to be downloaded to your PC in one way or another.

Wow, talk about overpaying!

I have 2TB of bandwidth to my server, and even then it's only $0.10 per GB for overuse!

You should think about switching to a new ISP, someone who don't charge loads amounts.

Surprisingly, Comcast is actually available in the major areas of Alaska.
