Would you people lay off? Jesus. MasterCE, I'm especially sick of you telling everyone that things aren't possible simply because you don't know how to do anything. All of the things you have said are impossible are completely possible (not just this thread, everywhere).
They're decent suggestions, just some of them have unforeseen consequences or a low cost/benefit ratio. I don't have infinite time, so I really have to concentrate on things that take as little work for the most benefit possible.
when bricks get blown off or away, in stead of making them disappear, make them have more physics, and make it where they will re-spawn, but instead of going away, make them just fall on the ground and stay there till they re-spawn.
When the bricks are exploding, it's about 10 times as expensive to render them as it is when they are standing still. They could be made static again when they finally stop moving, but this would require significant programming. I haven't really looked into making them bounce. It seems do-able because I could pre-calculate their path when they first explode, but I don't know how expensive that would be.
make something where people can make models and builds, and save them onto this thing. then when people in main menu can hook up to the Internet and download builds and models instead of downloading them off the forums.
I have been contemplating something like this, mainly for add-ons and maps and such. I'll probably have a thing to auto-download them from the web instead of from people's servers to speed things up.
instead of only being able to make a server, make it where people can have there own place and make it where people can add it to the server list easier, without people having to go through some port forwarding thing. cause some people have been complaining about how they can't get that to work.
I agree that port forwarding is a huge barrier to hosting a server. It would be neat to have a way for people create their own 5 player server easily using my dedicated game server, but that would require some work to launch and end the servers remotely.
