because I raided it a while back, went back today and didn't find anyone.

And I just grinded the forget out of my restoration. It's 33 and I am now level 5. Now for speechcraft.

And when I sleep, occasionally a DB assassin will attack me. So there's some money.

It should be just out of the north exit of Seyda Neen and to the right.
Not very far.
And it may take up to a week ingame for them to respawn

No difficulty slider = yay
No arena = nay

Just because there isn't a difficulty slider doesn't mean you can't change difficulty.
I'd be largely surprised if there wasn't difficulty setting like in Fallout. (Very Easy, Easy, Normal, Hard, Very Hard)
