Seems rather interesting, hmm...

Ah yes, so many comments, thanks guys.
Now I got a lot of stuff to awnser:

k, so they would be easy, got that down
do you think you could set up something where people can put in suggestions for what they want, like if I was to request a "walking stick" custimization item you and the modeler would make it?
and close the suggestions box somewhere after it's released?
Thats not a hat, but still possible.
Granted "walking stick" doesn't comply to any standard possible item slots like 'shirt', 'pants', or 'hat'.
While possible, I don't feel like making a whole category for "walking sticks" is worth it.
Other than that, sure, I guess I could talk to dontcare4free, which brings us to our next commenter:
Require approval of a new decal (only the first time that decal is posted) before it appears to anyone else than yourself (the user) and the mods.
This is only really possible for before an offical release, but since that's a long way off, sure, why not.
Hats are useless.Looks like someone doesn't play TF2.   :P
He already has one, genius.
Besides, do you hate him or not? You seem to switch opinion all the time.
C++ can usually be compiled under Linux too.Good thing I made this with OpenGL and SDL rather than DirectX and SDLNet rather than Winsock, so porting would be an option. But once again, this assumes the project will get popular enough for me to bother.
It could be pretty useful for some stuff, besides that was actually for the game server itself.Well, they'll need a place to download the game (hosting it off a third party website for an "offical" release would be very unprofessional) and starters info (not all players need to also play bl) and if it gets really popular a long time from now, forums.
That would be VERY easy, as in, I could easily set something like that up in less than five minutes for free.
A suggestions box? If you can get a bunch of modelers and artists to make stuff for me for free, go right ahead!
Replied with bold.
no, He still owe me for something until debt. He need work for me.
Furling, you hosting for me would make me owe you more.
How do you see that as payback.

Okay, I'll set up an issue tracker then.
For now I'll just set it up as http://syjgame.dontcare4free.com/ or something, as I don't even know the name of it.

Otherwise there's the "lazy" way out of using a code hosting site's (such as BitBucket) issue tracker software, which is what I was referring to in my original post. However, it looks a bit less professional and has a bit less of flexibility.

Actually, this discussion would probably be better fit for discussing over steam (hint hint).

Hat.
Shirt.
Pants.
Accessories.

Oh, and yes, I do play TF2, although I seem like pretty much the only guy who is not obsessed with worthless, very expensive, purely cosmetic crap.

Even though the topic title says DrenDran I thought you where Boltster. lol

I clicked yes and no.

(assuming i can get people to play lol)

I am in. PM me if you finish it (as in get enough done for people to beta test), that'd be great. C:

If you add accessories like that, make a huge selection like TF2, because it's those kind of collectibles that make people want to keep playing to get the best of the best, and trade.

I'm not sure if that's been said before, I'll read out all the text.

I would definitely play too. Maybe even donate if you need resources and are short on cash, because this game looks really fun.

I don't know what you mean by issue tracker though lol
Also, things don't need to be professional yet, the only place that knows about it are these forums.
Oh, and I signed out of steam because I was afk, I'll sign back in.
Hat.
Shirt.
Pants.
Accessories.
Hats go on head.
Shirts go over chest.
Pants go below chest.
Accessories go .......... ?

Yup, he's banned now, so a few of us are using mods of his avatar.
I needed a new one anyway.

Once I get a player model, or make a minecraftish one out of blocks, I'll implement hats.
Hats I suppose could be items, and since items will be tradable... yeah.
I wonder if I should let people make hats though...?

I never bothered much over the hats either.
But I can't say it's a bad idea.
Nah, I'll be able to pay for hosting myself, it's only like thirty five bucks a month lol, I used to buy the same thing for Blockland hosting and my website a bit back.
But models, yeah, anyone who can model (or draw I suppose) would be appreciated.

I'm hoping to finish some basic kind of item system soon, and make a quick vid.

I'll just set up a Drupal-based issue tracker then. Another advantage of that is that it integrates well into the main website (provided that you run Drupal there too), since it's essentially running under it, as well as that the same install can be used to manage issues for multiple projects (as an example, server + client + mod 1 + mod 2), as well as that it's "completely" skinnable.

Although it's probably overkill. :cookieMonster:

EDIT: I'll do it tomorrow. So leave the info needed here while I'm asleep.
