Author Topic: Have your faith ever strayed?  (Read 7667 times)

It's not about saying things when it comes to proof and facts. You can't just walk around that.

Now here's some stuff that might help you understand:

You realize the point of this all was me simply stating you can't lose faith in something you never believed in, right? And a good bit of the conversation I was agreeing with you, just not in the way you were applying your statement.

answering to OP, since I know the conversation has probably strayed quite a bit from the original topic.
-I have had doubts. But I'm over them. I've really studied and realized that my faith is probably the best one out there. And the only one in my opinion, that has no contradictions. (pm me if you'd like, if you want to talk or something, since saying it to this community probably won't help too much.)

"Hah, you're stupid! I pity you for not beleiving what I beleive in. I am totally right."

I dislike religious discussion in general because most people can't even defend their beliefs. At least I saw some justification in this thread.

And by most people you mean everyone except Atheists.

Whether god exists or not isn't the point.
if it is the point or not isn't he point either

And sadly we've been dealing with that since the beginning of time. Conflict is in human nature and religion barely differs that much from clan rivalry or nation rivalry.
It's in human nature to conflict. And sorry if you don't know whats going on outside your comfortable little home, it's going on right now out there and it's not going to stop until this planet is destroyed. You have to wipe human beings off the maps in order to get your peace.
I think the human race is getting dumber and no where near to eliminating conflict, just like it started thousands/millions or  however you believe long ago.
Knowledge at our fingertips? HAH, look at the dumbasses that are churning out of American schools.
Just cause your government has like negative money doesn't mean the whole world is going dumb

Do you realize that if God actually exists, he would like, you know, let me know that he does, even if I live alone in the jungle or something, since he does want me to believe in him and all that?

It's losing intelligence overall. Also, America isn't the only nation with a sub-par education system and religious and other conflicts.

Do you realize that if God actually exists, he would like, you know, let me know that he does, even if I live alone in the jungle or something, since he does want me to believe in him and all that?
Because a book inspired by God and numerous dedicated followers proclaiming and explaining his teachings isn't enough. Do you know what the word faith means by the way?

lol I dunno? my country is good

I still wouldn't know about God if I was deaf and blind.

Am I the only one that noticed how terrible the grammar is in the Subject?

if venus is the hottest planet, then why doesn't the sun orbit it?

Someone is failing science.  Heat has nothing to do with what orbits what.  We have a moon, but Earth doesn't give off heat.

I still wouldn't know about God if I was deaf and blind.

The bible has been translated to braille, and pretty much anything can be taught through sign language.

Also, in Deuteronomy 1:39, there is an implied age of accountability which you become responsible for entrusting your faith in Christianity as soon as you become intellectually conscious of knowing good from evil which never really happens for most deaf and blind people. This could also be the excepting verse for for the severely mentally handicapped too. However, you do not fit any of those categories, and intellectually know of the existence of God, at least from a theoretical Christian point of view.

Also, the Sun is hotter than Venus.

the average temperature of Venus is 460 degrees Celsius

In the spectral class label, G2 indicates its surface temperature of approximately 5778 K (5505 °C)

Why? It's not God's responsibility to tell you if or if not God is there. There are signs throughout the world of God's Love and it is justly your choice to listen and watch or not. I'm sure God would be perfectly happy if you didn't believe, just as long as you led a Loving life and lived every moment you could. I believe that's what God wants of His or Her children.

Hardly the point, though. :o

What if I'm fully inept all of my senses besides touch and smell. How would I be conscious of anything?
Hmm~?

Then you aren't intellectually conscious of his presence and most likely are saved by him automatically. I can't claim this to be 100% true considering I've never seen it personally or heard it from a blind, deaf, and person without functioning taste bud's perspective, but you still wouldn't know good from evil by world experience then.

Ohmy. It's horrid when that hapens, but there are folks who live like that. A deep sorrow, indeed. All the more to experience in the hereafter, though. But you seem to be functioning just fine, my friend. Appreciate that.
