Torrents aren't piracy. They're a method of downloading files extremely fast unless you have stuff internet.

How can they prevent it fully. At worst they can just make the people who made the downloader programs work harder to keep up.

Even if they somehow blocked third party downloaders (which they can't), the video still sits in your browser cache. All you need to do is find the file and convert it/fix the extension.
