Author Topic: Fallout Series - Megathread  (Read 96159 times)

I know this is a pitiful megathread at the moment, but I will make it better depending on if it takes off or not.

What is Fallout?
Fallout is a game based in retrofuturistic, post-nuclear America. It has RPG elements, and the newer games are FPSRPGs. A few companies have made the fallout series, such as Interplay,(Fallout 1, 2, Tactics, and Brotherhood of Steel.) Bethesda, (Fallout 3) and Obsidian Entertainment (New Vegas)

Fallout also has a unique karma system where it rates you based on the evil or good things you do. The more good things you do, the higher your karma, ultimately making you a better person. The more bad things you do (Killing innocent people, etc) will lower your karma, and rate you Evil. There are several different perks, such as guns, lockpick, Science, Medicine, and a lot more, which can give you great advantages in-game. There is also the SPECIAL system, Strength, Perception, Endurance, Charisma, Intelligence, Agility, and Luck, which all can greatly influence gameplay.

Ideas for the next games. (My favorites will go here)
Personally, I think Anchorage would be cool. There would be a lot of Chinese stuff and such.

I would hate New York City. You know how rubble blocked the streets in D.C. and you had to go through the metro stations? NYC would be that times 20 because of the dense buildings. Except I would imagine Manhattan would be leveled, if not, you will be doing more maze-solving then role-playing.

Though, Brooklyn and Queens would be cool, it would be a nice idea if somehow the wastelanders repaired the Long Island Railroad back into working order, and you can travel from Eastern Long Island to Western Long Island and vice versa via train.

SO, what are your ideas for the next fallout game?

I'd really enjoy one in Chicago. You'd be near a Great Lake, some historic buildings would still be partially standing, and you could venture out into the suburbs.

I'd also love if they added more survival/home building things.

Perhaps London?
You wouldn't have the feel of "patriotism still standing after the apocalypse" but it'd still be rather nice to see the landmarks.

Well Fallout is supposed to be Life in the American Wasteland, and I don't think England was attacked by nuclear bombs, though the radiation would have affected them, a lot of people probably live there still.

Also, the California area like the first 2 games would be cool.

I'd like to see what's going on in the rest of the world but I doubt they'd do that because that's not really in the spirit of the game.
Grand Canyon sounds cool.

I'd like to see Orlando (Florida), after all it is the tourist capital of the world

Florida would be cool. Actually, Fallout: Van Buren was going to take place in Florida if I am correct.

A lot more annoying ass Mirelurks and stuff, though.

Somewhere near the ocean.
Id like to see what they can do with the water and rain :D
