I don't really have any use for explosives except for some frags hanging around from time to time.

In the older fallouts bombs were good for taking care of those doors your character couldn't lockpick.

also pretty damn handy for taking out assassination targets, plant a bomb in their pockets and run for the exit!

I remember in Fallout 2, I wore an advanced power armor and hand a live C4 in my inventory, so I stood next to the guy carrying the vertiberd plans and blew him up. After the blast my char survived and I carried the blue prints out, fixed the dog, and freed the death claw.

There wouldn't have been a Fallout 3 if Black Isle hadn't done a good job with Fallout1 and 2. Its like Valve going out of buisness and Activision buying the rights to Half-life and they turn Half-life into another Call of Duty title.
