If their head isn't gonna go boom, I'd rather they just fall over dead.
thats how i feel. i hate shooting someone with my 44 and having their head just fly backwards rather than exploding :(

Thats why you get strong back. As for me I go in with my Leather Jacket and M1 Garand.
I can carry 340 pounds of equipment but the caravan you go with to Zion only allows you to carry 100 pounds because of the rough terrain.
However the equipment is somewhat strong enough as This Machine is a powerful sniping weapon and Lucky gives out a lot of crits in combination with the 1st recon beret.

But... Chance's Knife is Default.
What ? I found it in a grave near the cazador infested tribal village at the western edge of the map. It's the unique version of the combat knife and it's really powerful.
I had the choice between this and my bowie-knife. I decided for Chance's knife because it's cheaper to repair.

so I'm not sure what conflict between mods is causing this, but everytime I pick up a new weapon which can be modded I seem to get all of the mods for it in my inventory.
Like just a second ago I picked up a plasma pistol, and then I saw 3 mods for it.
I'm trying to make my game a bit more challenging to progress to epic weaponry, not easier.

Cause it looked like you meant it was a DLC item which its not its a Default Unique item.

Where do I buy bobby pins in New Vegas? I'm down to one.

you find them or you get lucky.

I've never had this problem.
Do you do nothing but the auto attempt thing or something?
I mean, I tend to find an abundance of them at the start of the game and then never run out afterwards.

I believe you're talking about forcing the lock, and if that were the case he would have a lot of broken locks out in the Mojave.

Are you using some sort of mod that makes lockpicking harder or something?

No, I'm on a console.
Lockpicks break easier on a console, from my experience.

How do you do your lockpicking?
do you just pick a random spot and slam it or do you lightly tap the spot and find the unlocking area?

This brought a hilarious image to my mind.

My picks only break on 75+ locks. I had about 10 picks, but I went to unlock a very hard lock and ended up breaking about 6 of them

In my experience you should easily be able to slowly build up your collection of picks to a decent number before you reach the point where your Lockpick skill is high enough for you to attempt those levels of locks

Well I don't have any problems with picking locks-
Got 100 bobby pins.

Cause it looked like you meant it was a DLC item which its not its a Default Unique item.
Well yeah it's default.

Anyways I beated honest hearts and it didn't take long because the main quest is ridicolously short.
Atleast I got a few badass items : the desert ranger armor , the 12.7mm service rifle and the unique M1911.

Currently I'm trying to get most unique firearms into my possession.
The next ones on my list are the mysterious magnum , mercy and La longue carbine.
After that I will get some of the Gun Runner's Arsenal unique weapons and search for the unique varmint rifle maybe.
