Author Topic: Dwarf Fortress Megathread! - Necro'd enough to count as a vampire  (Read 139025 times)

To get back on topic, I now I have 8 Giant Leopards. :D
Although all but 2 of them are still young. Soon I will have an army of giant leopards. Goblins shall tremble in fear.

Sounds fun.

I didn't like how my other fortress was set up so I've started another.

The embark location is really cool because I'm living in what is basically a crater in a mountain.
I intend to remove all the ramps around the sides so that I can be safe, I will build a single tunnel leading out though, so migrants and caravans can get in.

Bump,
Is there anything I can use that's like a big door that closes a 3 wide area?
I want to have gates like this that allow trade caravans through.

Bridge. Although it has to be manually controlled.
If you place it such that it lowers over a moat, when it's raised nothing can get in unless it can fly.

forget man, I was playing trying to make a farm when too much water came into the cave I was digging. The miners couldn't swim so they ended up all drowning and causing a lot of men in my fort to get unhapp thoughts. Most of my military are throwing tantarums, so I disbanded my only squad.
Other than the guys my fortress has been great. I have bitimous coal and iron. Going to be using those and flux stone to make steel armor. I have a stuffload of booze and enough cats to feed a nation. I don't have enough farm plots, so I'm going to have to dig deeper to find soil or a underground pond. forget.

How to be a true dwarf(And not a pony loving elf)
1. Find a elf city.
2. Embark with only miners.
3. Size up the city to see how big it is.
4. Cause a cave-in under the city.

Bonus points for reporting the damage.

I love these kind of challenges, they're so time consuming yet so fun.

Sounds fun.

You don't need to remove the ramps to be safe, areas like that are completely secure from the rest of the world unless there is a civ right in one.

Woo!

I made it past novice swimmer without dying. I'm going to become a legend in no time.

I made it too the new continent. People have new legendary quests for me. However, when before I could have 19 allies (it didn't go higher), now I can only have 8.

19 allies? That's a micro army right there. I can usually be cool with 7 or 8.

I dun like it when they always steal my kills.

Lol, I get all the kills on the important things, but most of the time I just sit back and throw gold coins.
