Yes, dwarves Self Delete. One failed fortress of mine ran out of rum, so all the dwarves gathered in the mess hall and preceded to constantly kill themselves. Everyone died that day.
That sounds hilarious.

Adventure is so much more fun and easier to start out with in my opinion. You can do anything, go anywhere.

Anyone else ever do adventure mode?

Also, they need multiplayer of this, would be great.

i am picking a location. can i eventually travel to all locations (in fortress mode)

You can view the whole map while in fortress mode I do believe, but besides that your dwarfes have to move themselves.

You can travel to everywhere right away, it just might take a while.

Someone help me install a texture set.

This, I couldn't figure it out either.

I don't use texture sets, because I am familiar with the ASCII graphics and only play adventure mode.

i dont think i could ever learn to play this game but i sure love reading stories about it

Adventure mode is simple enough, but holy christ fortress mode is so hard without it.

How to install texture packs like a pro
1. Find a texture pack you want.
2. put the png in data/art
3. go to data/init
4. click the init text file
5. change the font for both versions (windowed and full-screen) to the one you want.

Quickninja: This might break saves that use other texture packs (or the default curses font) before it.
